Birtley AC Junior XC Relays 2026: Bronze Success for Gosforth Harriers

The 9th Birtley Junior Relays brought together some of the North East’s most determined young athletes on Sunday 8 March, as teams from across the region took on the familiar and fast‑flowing course at Lord Lawson. This year’s event carried even more significance, incorporating the NECAA Junior Cross Country Relay Championships, and the racing lived up to the occasion.

With age groups spanning U11 to U20, the relays once again showcased the depth of junior talent in the region. For Gosforth Harriers, it was a day of grit, teamwork, and well‑earned celebration — capped by two brilliant bronze medals.
