Gosforth Harriers Shine at Elswick Harriers Good Friday Relays!

The Gosforth Harriers took to the streets for the Elswick Harriers Good Friday Relays, delivering a fantastic performance across all age groups and categories! Here’s a rundown of their brilliant efforts:
Juniors
Our young athletes showed great promise!
- Henry Anderson secured 8th place in U11 Boys, while Maggie Turnbull finished 14th in U11 Girls.
- Ruby Collins stormed to an impressive 3rd place in U13 Girls, with Joseph Hutchinson taking 14th in U13 Boys.
- Chloe Das raced her way to 6th in U15 Girls, and William Hall finished 17th in U15 Boys—each putting in determined performances!
Female Teams
- Team 1 (Alice Lewis, Emma Ashman & Millie Moat) finished 14th overall and 13th in Senior Female, showcasing solid teamwork and effort.
Male Teams
- Team 2 (Andy Heppell, Alex Rhodes, Chris Williams & Maurice Bourke) finished 20th overall and 18th in Senior Male, putting up a strong battle against tough competition.
- Team 1 (Simon “Sweatpea” Daniels, Steve “The Baddy” Boddy, Adrian Mitchison & Neil Ramsay) secured 71st overall and 7th in MV50—a great showing for the veteran runners!
Individual Standouts
- Alice Lewis finished 28th in Senior Female, while Leonie Earnshaw put in a determined race to place 54th in FV40.
- In the male categories, the Gosforth Harriers truly excelled:
- Andy Heppell claimed 1st place in MV45—a stellar achievement!
- Simon Daniels dominated MV55 and MV65 categories, taking 1st place in both!
- Kevin Thomas also stood out with a fantastic 2nd place finish in MV65.
It was an incredible day for the team, marked by competitive spirit and camaraderie. Congratulations to all our runners—whether setting personal bests or making memories, every performance counted!
