Harrier of the Month: May 2025

Harrier of the Month: May 2025

Each month, we take a moment to recognize outstanding members of Gosforth Harriers who go above and beyond for the club. In May, three athletes stood out for their dedication, commitment, and incredible performances.

Kevin Spreadbury – Leading the Next Generation

Kevin has been a pillar of support for the junior athletes in NEYDL, consistently dedicating his time to Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday training sessions. His guidance and encouragement help shape the future of our young runners, ensuring they develop both skill and confidence. His dedication is invaluable, and we’re proud to recognize his contributions.

Helen Watson – The Ultimate Team Player

When the relay team was in need, Helen didn’t hesitate—she dropped everything, rushed home from work, grabbed her kit, and was ready to race! Her selflessness ensured that Gosforth Harriers had a team on the track, showcasing true team spirit at its finest. And as if that wasn’t enough, she even brought homemade banana bread to share with her fellow runners. Now that’s dedication!

Sebastian Hanney-Margallo – The Record Breaker

Sebastian joined the club just a month ago, and he’s already making history! Breaking the U15 boys 100m record, a time that had stood for an astonishing 47 years, is nothing short of incredible. And the best part? He’s improving with every race. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this rising star!

Congratulations to Kevin, Helen, and Sebastian!

Their passion and dedication embody everything Gosforth Harriers stands for, and we’re thrilled to celebrate their achievements. Who will be next month’s Harrier of the Month? Stay tuned!
