Join Us

If you are interested in joining the Gosforth Harriers & AC, we offer you the opportunity to attend a couple of our training sessions free of charge.

We have junior and senior sections which provide training and competitive opportunities for all members. With training sessions throughout the week, led by our experienced coaches and run leaders, we offer a varied programme to support your goals.

The Gosforth Harriers are a very friendly club. But we do appreciate meeting new people can be daunting. Please contact us prior to attending, as this his will ensure our coaches and leaders are ready to welcome you, and give you an introduction to the club.

Our purpose is to ensure you get the most out of your time with us. Therefore, we would encourage you to speak to the club captains, coaches or run leaders, who will ensure you are placed in the most appropriate group.

We would always encourage any athlete, senior or junior, to attend at least 2 or 3 sessions before making the decision to join. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via our contact form.

Juniors

Our Junior section is athletes who are 8 to 17 years old and is a fun part of the club, which makes it extremely popular! As a result we have a lot of demand from young athletes wanting to join. There may be a waiting list when you enquire, depending on the age group.

We would encourage junior athletes to be regularly attending events such as Junior Parkrun. This will allow you to determine whether the young person is able to keep up with others in their group.

Seniors

We are an inclusive club and aim to support runners of all abilities. However, we do ask that you are able to run a minimum of 4 to 5 miles at a 10 minute per mile pace or better. This is about the average distance we cover in our training sessions, which includes a warm up and cool down.

There is currently no waiting list for the Seniors groups. So what’s stopping you? Get in contact with us now to arrange your first session.
